Wilderness Lodge

 

The Wilderness Lodge is nestled in the beech forest. It’s set up for guests to enjoy the wild nature of New Zealand’s mountains and experience life on their nature reserve and sheep station.

It takes approximately 20 minutes to drive from the Train Station in Arthurs Pass to the Lodge, one of the staff will be awaiting your arrival. 

We will book you into the new Alpine lodge.

You can also participate in a shorter guided nature and farm adventures ( 2 daily each 1 to 1 1/2 hours duration ). The adventures vary daily to suit visitors' interests, weather and wildlife and includes;

  • Beech forest, mistletoe, rifleman and bellbird discovery walk.

  • Tussock, thorn forest and waterbird wilderness walk.

  • Merino sheep mustering, old fashioned blade shearing where you get to assist and wool spinning.

  • Southern Cross night sky guided walks.

More extensive guided tours are available at an additional cost.
