- Driving distance from Christchurch to Te Anau is approximately 9 hrs 20 minutes
- Driving distance from Queenstown to Te Anau is approximately 2 hrs 25 minutes
General
Lake Te Anau is the largest in the South Island and Fiordland is the largest national park in New Zealand, it happens to be one of the largest in the world. This is why it has achieved World Heritage status. Due to this extraordinary scenic & breathtaking beauty the Fiord's is very highly valued by hikers throughout the world, the three well known walking tracks are: Kepler, Routeburn & the Milford Tracks.
Weather:
The weather in Lake Te Anau can be varied from different points due to the high mountain peaks and sheltered valleys. Te Anau experiences less rainfall compared to Milford as its set slightly back from the coastline. Without a doubt during the winter you will experience snow on the mountains & misty days with an average temperature of under 10 degrees, while the Summer can be clear and on average settles around 20-23 degrees.

Time to be confirmed A taxi will pick you up from
your accommodation (Centrally located) to the
Marriage Licence office.

Rochelle or a team member will meet you on level
6. After obtaining your Marriage Licence we will
go to a coffee shop to go through your wedding
arrangements together.
**Please note the office is only opened during the
week and in business hours**

Wedding Date WEDDING DAY
9am Please make your way to the Salon in Te Anau
(As this is a small village unfortunately they do not
have the staff to have one out of the office,
therefore you will need to go into Te Anau. This
will take 20 minutes which gives you a couple of
minute to local the Salon on the Main Street
9.30am Hair Appointment at the Salon
10.30am Please make your way to the Pharmacy to have
your Make-up applied.
11am Drive back to the Lodge, once back take a few
minutes out, have a quick bite to eat or order
yourselves a drink to relax and enjoy the moment,
you don’t have to drive yourselves anywhere now!
11.45’ish Final preparations – It’s getting rather real and
exciting now!
12.05pm One of the staff from Fiordland Lodge will drive
you down to the departure point
Peter (Captain & Co-ordinator), Frana (Celebrant),
Sonya (Photographer) & David (Videographer)
will be awaiting your arrival
12.30pm Board the Carousel at Te Anau lake shore
Peter will discuss some of the locations available
for you to marry at, the location is weather
dependant.
Sit back and enjoy the scenery, this is a fantastic
way to experience the breathtaking views all
around you.
Peter will cruise into a secluded area for you to
exchange your wedding vows, you may like to
marry in a bay or pull up near a waterfall.
Your ceremony will begin once you are settled
After your ceremony, relax over a glass of
Champagne and toast with everyone at your
ceremony.
While cruising back to the doc you will be served
nibbles.
3.15pm Arrive back
Your marriage licence must be signed on land,
Peter will organize a little table for you to sign on,
afterward celebrate by cutting your wedding cake.
(This can be taken away to enjoy for desert or you
may like to share this with everyone, just let me
know).
3.30’ish Everyone will bid you farewell, one of the Staff
from the Lodge will take you back to your
accommodation.
Dinner
Time to be confirmed Let me know if you would like your dinner to be
served in your suite for something special.
