Listen to the waves lapping at the side of the yacht as you sail through the Queen Charlotte Sounds. The sea is crystal clear, the sun sparkling on the water as you anchor at your seclude bay to marry. After your ceremony you will set sail and see the sights of the sounds as you relax over a glass of wine. This wedding package is definitely full of luxury and relaxation!

 

 

Location:   Situated at the top of the South Island, the Queen Charlotte Sounds is absolutely breath taking.

The wooden hills from the National Park and the secluded bays are sparsely populated as many of these bays are only accessed by boat. This certainly makes for a perfect location to marry!

 

Weather: Sunny,  This area has the highest number of sunshine hours in New Zealand. 

In the Winter it is not as cold as the remaining country either with the minimum temperature on average at 6 degrees.

In the summer you will enjoy many days with an average temperature of 25 degrees (January – March)

                                                                       Rochelle or a team member will meet you on level

                                                                       6.  After obtaining your Marriage Licence we will

                                                                       go to a coffee shop to go through your wedding

                                                                       arrangements together.

8.20am                                                        You will be taken down to the Salon

 

8.30am                                                        Hair Appointment at the Salon

 

9.45am                                                         You will be picked up and taken back to McCormick

                                                                         House.

 

10.15am                                                      A staff member will take you down to Gate 1, Picton

                                                                        Marina, the Entrance to the Magical Queen Charlotte

                                                                        Sounds, where you will be meet by your wedding

                                                                        co-ordinator   (Your rental car is welcome to stay at

                                                                        your accommodation)

 

10.45am                                                     You will board the Caro Vita which is a true modern

                                                                       classic sailing yacht. She is 53ft of ocean cruiser

                                                                       stunning to look at and fitted out with the best of

                                                                       everything. Once on board Caro Vita we will hoist the

                                                                       sails and glide through the tranquil waters of the

                                                                       stunning Queen Charlotte Sounds.

 

12.30 pm                                                    Arrive in Ruakaka Bay. After we have anchored the

                                                                       yacht we will row to shore to Rateimera with its lovely

                                                                       sandy beach and native bush.

                                                                        

1.00 pm                                                       You are most welcome to marry on the yacht and

                                                                        then sign your papers on the beach. (Marriage

                                                                        Licence must be signed on land)

 

1.30 pm                                                       After your ceremony your photographer will guide

                                                                        you around the beach for your wedding photos.

                                                                        During this time your lunch will be prepared on the

                                                                        beach.

 

2.30 pm                                                       Your celebrant and photographer will be picked

                                                                        up by a water taxi and taken back to the mainland.

 

                                                                                    You can now enjoy your romantic lunch in this

                                                                                    magical location.

 

4.00 pm                                                      Set sail, sit back and relax over a bottle of wine while

                                                                        you are taken on a journey through the Queen

                                                                        Charlotte Sounds.

 

6.00 pm                                                       Anchor for the evening in an idyllic little sheltered

                                                                        Cove and be wined and dined well into the evening

                                                                        under the stars or in the sumptuous leather settees

                                                                        in the saloon.

 

                                                                                     You will have your own luxurious private double

                                                                                     cabin and ensuite.
