    Remarkables,
           Queenstown

With views across Lake Wakatipu and Queenstown, this destination has always been a favourite.

To get married on a mountain overlooking Lake Wakatipu is simply a dream come true. This mountain range is not referred to as the Remarkables for no reason.  This destination offers spectacular beauty 12 months of the year.  From golden tussocks through the summer months to snow covered mountains in the winter.

Imagine being transported to your wedding venue by Helicopter, now that’s something to remember for years to come. Fun & excitment from the moment you begin. When you land on the mountain top, you can then take in the vastness of what New Zealand has to offer, you will simply be blown away by the beauty.

Customer Testimonial

First of all I would like to say thank you very much for all of your help in organising our wedding. We had a fantastic day, it couldn't have gone any better if we tried. Everyone was brilliant

Soar Over Queenstown Hill

Not only will you experience the beautiful views, but we will be flying you over to Queenstown Hill, from here you can see Arrowtown and the Shotover River.

The Remarkables offers all year round reliable access to the mountains from Queenstown’s Airport.  Since these ranges are not as high as the Southern Alps, it is not as susceptible to weather conditions.
If you’re after warmth & calm days, then the best time of the year to marry is from mid February through to start of April.
However, if it's snow you're after, I would recommend you inquire about one of our August packages.

Time of the year to marry

Availability

To access the heavily discounted helicopter rates, your wedding is based in between Monday – Thursday, and either in the morning prior to 11am or later in the afternoon after 4pm.
I would recommend all winters weddings to be held in the morning as the skies are usually clearer and by 4pm the weather is getting cooler, as it is usually dark by 5:30pm at this time of year.

Check in
15 minutes prior to departure you will be guided through the course of your journey.  The Helicopter company will run through the safety procedures & make sure you are happy with all aspects of this before take off.

Wedding Attire

During the winter months it is very important that brides opt for warmer shoes.  If you wore open shoes this would be similar to putting your bear feet in the freezer, not the ideal situation!
There are so many wonderful boots available these days to compliment your outfit, it certainly worth hunting for them, and what an excuse to go shoe shopping!

During the summer months I would recommend for you to wear flat shoes.  The ground is very uneven with rocks / tussocks.  To walk around with high heals on for your photo tour will slow this event down and possibly reduce the amount of photos taken.  Plus we would like you to walk away from the helicopter rather than having to carry a bride with a sore ankle

Ceremony

Once you land on the Remark’s you are most welcome to soak up the outstanding views.  Once you are both settled you can then give the okay to proceed with your wedding vows.

Seating Capacity on the Helicopter

There are 6 seats available to you in the helicopter, you are most welcome to utilize unoccupied seats. Generally this would comprise of the following:

·    Bride
·    Groom
·    Celebrant
·    Wedding Co-ordinator
·    Photographer
·    Videographer

However, this is only a guideline and you are most welcome to choose who you would like for your dream wedding.

Department of Conservation

In this package I have included your DOC permit fees, which allows you to access DOC land.  Doc takes care of New Zealand land all around the country.  Not only do they preserve the land for New Zealanders and tourists to enjoy for years to come but they also look after all the species on the land.

For us to be permitted into this area, it is really important that we respect the area and not leave any rubbish or make an impact to the land.  Therefore we are unable to offer petal confetti to this area.  This land is also a public area, we will always land in a remote area however please be aware we hold no rights to the landing site.

Landing Sites

As part of your wedding package, we also include another location to fly to after your wedding.  This is a real benefit in increasing the variety of picturesque back drops for your wedding photos and it also shows family and friends why you choose to marry in New Zealand and discover its beauty.

Back-up

With out a doubt Stoneridge Estate would be the most perfect back up option.  All my couples have thanked me profusely for recommending this lodge, not only as a brilliant back up location but it also offers luxurious accommodation.  It’s the perfect place to stay, after the most memorable day of your lives.
Just picture yourselves, relaxing in a huge spa bath after your wedding, over looking Lake Hayes and the surrounding mountains.  It’s truly heaven on earth!
